About this beach
The fishing pier, built in 1952, splits two stretches with distinct personalities: north of it, with more swell, is where the advanced surfers go, while the calmer south side is where beginners start out. The coastal lighting is kept deliberately dim so it doesn't disorient the sea turtles that nest there.
